Table” massage: I use this for people who have extra difficulty getting to the floor and back up, who need systemic skin moisturizing, are medically fragile, or who just don’t jive with Thai bodywork. Sessions are done on a massage table and involve a combination of techniques including fascia release, flowing movements, some stretching & Thai techniques, acupressure and breathing exercises. Herbal compresses, balms & liniments, suction cups and body scraping are all options as well. When using oils, I use sesame, coconut or unscented lotion. All organic. Massage for relaxation and pregnancy is available on the table, but for deep tissue or injury recovery, Thai is usually more effective.

Traditional Thai Massage:  Dress in your yoga best and lie on a comfortable floor mat while your therapist uses the hands, arms, feet, knees, etc. to squeeze, press, stretch, move, relax, and rejuvenate you from head to toe. Most sessions include warming, aromatic herbal compresses and sometimes balms & liniments, cupping or body scraping. You choose how intense or relaxing you want your massage. This holistic therapy can lead to deep, long-lasting results that accumulate with every visit.

Thai Prenatal and Postpartum Massage: Thai herbal compresses reach deep to break up adhesions, boost circulation and tonify tissue. We may do some gentle movement, but little to no stretching. Full body deep therapy is usually too intense for mama’s loosened joints and baby’s fragile state, however some deeper spot-specific work is usually possible.

Thai Herbal Massage is used in most of my treatments to some capacity. Compresses are a mix of lovely aromatic, medicinal herbs wrapped in cloth, steamed, wrapped in a towel and used to boost circulation, break up adhesions, etc.

Balms and liniments are formulated to heat, cool, calm and otherwise balance deep into the tissue and nervous system. Although Thai massage is not like the Swedish “oil” massages, sometimes for medical purposes, these oils, balms and liniments may be used in specific areas.

Thai Deep Tissue: Prolonged compressions, luxurious stretches, deep point and line work that separates layers of tissue so they can move freely. Add herbal compresses, maybe some cupping or scraping and you have a whole new feeling of freedom in your body.

Cupping & Scraping: Used to help break up scar tissue, encourage circulation, or even fight colds and flu. More info on my FAQ page.

After you give birth, try some postpartum massage. As time and ingredients are available, I can make an herbal compress especially designed to help a woman’s body recover and reset itself after childbirth. You’ll also be likely to need massage even more now that you’re constantly holding a baby in your arms.
